Just for fun! Our friend, Melanie Venuti, over at mvbreastfeeingsupport.com has given us her favorite lactation cookie recipe that is not only delicious but has some special ingredients that may help give your supply a little boost.

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 2/3 cup flour

¾ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1/8 tsp baking powder

1 ½ cups oats

1 tbsp ground flax seeds

2 tbsp nutritional yeast

¼ cup nuts, chopped (I like pecans)

½ cup mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Line 2 cookie sheets with Parchment paper and set aside.

In a large bowl beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat until blended. In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, flax and nutritional yeast. Stir into butter. Gently stir in oats, nuts and chocolate chips until blended.

Shape dough into round balls, maybe 1 tablespoon each and place on cookie sheets about 1 inch apart, flatten a bit with hand or the back of a spoon. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until starting to get golden brown.

Put your feet up and enjoy!
