Once you have been given the green light by your doctor or midwife to start exercising again you may be excited or exhausted. If you don’t feel like working out right away, don’t feel bad! Enjoy your snuggles and revisit this post when you do. If you are excited about the idea of getting back into shape, here are a few ways to workout with your little nugget in tow as a new mommy…

Recycle Studio on Union Park offers babysitting through Summer Sitters on Tuesday and Thursdays during their 8:30 AM ride. This 45-minute class is low impact but since it is an indoor cycling class that works your entire body, you’ll leave drenched in sweat. Make sure you sign up for the class and reserve a spot for your little one as space is limited. The babysitting charge is $10. They also offer sitters at the 12:30pm class on Wednesdays at their Back Bay location.

Also on Tuesdays and Thursdays are classes at FlyWheel and FlyBarre right in the Prudential. Sensible Sitters offers complimentary sitting for their 9:30am and 10:30am classes. FlyBarre is a low cardio, strength training workout that focuses on traditional Barre exercises. Babies should be non-mobile and brought in a stroller.

If you’re not quite ready yet to leave your little one with a sitter, there are classes that let you work out with your baby, too! At Burn Fitness Studio in Back Bay, take a Mommy and Me Bootcamp on Mondays at 11am. Babies can be worn, held, chill on a mat or in their stroller/car seat. Meet other local moms while squatting, planking and focusing on postnatal weaknesses!

Xtend Barre on Newbury also offers classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11am, featuring a barre workout while wearing baby. Be sure to bring your favorite sling or carrier!

Starting in January, Sadhana Studio will also be offering a Baby and Me yoga class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:30am. Babies 6 weeks to non-walkers are welcome. Learn fun new ways to play with your baby while doing yoga poses.

Tip: Sadhana also has prenatal yoga, the only studio in the South End!

Cou Cou on Union Park also offers Baby & Me Yoga on Fridays at 10am.

At Healthworks in Back Bay, you can also bring your baby in a stroller and work out beside them in their large studio. You can check out my review over on my blog here. The class is on Wednesdays at 10:30am. Healthworks provides babysitting for members as well.

Lastly, if you want to workout on your own you’ll likely have to wait 3 months. You have Boston Sports Club on Harrison and Equinox on Dartmouth, both of which have babysitting. You can bring your baby once they are 3 months old and it will cost you $10 or $15 per visit, for a maximum of 2 hours, reservations are not required.
